Privacy Policy
Encore is a tip jar, song-request, and follow tool for live musicians. We only collect what we need to run those features, and we don't sell your information to anyone.
Information we collect
Artist accounts. When you sign up, we store your name, email, handle, bio, and the OAuth or password credentials you use to sign in. If you connect Stripe, we keep the minimal identifiers needed to route payouts to your account.
Fans and tippers. When someone tips you, pays to queue a song, leaves feedback, or subscribes to show updates, we may collect the name, email, message, or amount they provide on your page. We do not receive card numbers — those go directly to Stripe.
Usage. We log page visits, referrers, and hashed user agents so you can see how many people scanned your QR. We don't build ad profiles.
How we use it
- Show you tips, requests, and feedback from your crowd.
- Send show update emails to fans who subscribe.
- Route payouts through Stripe and track platform fees.
- Prevent abuse, spam, and fraud.
- Improve the product and debug issues.
Who we share with
We share information with the service providers that make Encore work: Stripe (payments and payouts), Resend (transactional email), and our hosting and database providers. Each of them is contractually required to handle your data responsibly.
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information if legally compelled, or to protect the rights and safety of users.
Your choices
Artists can update or delete their account from the dashboard. Fans can unsubscribe from an artist's show updates using the one-click link at the bottom of every email, or by visiting the unsubscribe page.
You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete it from our contact page.
Data retention
We keep account data while your account is active. Payment and payout records are retained for as long as tax and accounting laws require. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics may be kept longer.
Children
Encore is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, for account holders, send an email. Your continued use after a change means you accept the new policy.
